Snipe Skull (Common Snipe) Cast Replica - Gallinago gallinago #BC-171

-Size: 3½"L x ¾"W x ¾"H

-Species: Gallinago gallinago

-Notes: The common snipe is a wading bird found in wet, grassy areas in North and South America, Europe, Northern Africa, and Asia. The common snipe uses its remarkably long, pointed and straight bill to poke around in the mud for snails, insects, crustaceans, and earthworms. Mottled brown on top and pale underneath, this shy bird easily hides in vegetation. If flushed out, it flies in a zig-zag pattern to avoid capture. It builds shallow nests in the ground and has a clutch size of 3-4 eggs. It performs a flight maneuver in which it dives suddenly with its wings outstretched, the air through its tail feathers creating a whistling sound. 1-part skull (jaw glued to cranium).
