-Notes: Restricted to islands off the coast of New Zealand, the highly protected tuatara has remained virtually unchanged for some 130 million years. It is the sole survivor of a reptilian order which became virtually extinct some 70 million years ago and is now represented by a single genus with one species, the tuatara. This was cast from a specimen loaned by the Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences, which receives a portion of sales to further their work. 2-part skull (separate cranium & jaw).
